Understanding Oxidation: It is a completely normal, natural phenomenon for silver and plated jewelry to darken over time. Sulfur and other oxides present in the air and environment can cause a mild corrosive reaction. After wearing for a while, tiny spots (a silver sulfide film) may appear, which can eventually spread and turn the metal yellow or even black. Even with a protective electroplated layer, oxidation will still occur if the jewelry is not properly maintained.
Tips to Extend Your Jewelry’s Shine:
